PROJECT OVERVIEW AND GUIDELINES

End Result

For each entry, the database will provide:

Required:
  • Link to text of
    • Law
    • Regulation
    • Case, consent decree

  • Short description of the law, regulation, case, etc.(up to 100 words)

  • Summary of the law, regulation or case, cited (up to 700 words)

Optional
  • Links to law review or similar peer-reviewed, in depth analysis of the law, regulation, or case

Guidelines

Each participant will be assigned one or several laws, regulations, cases for which the participant will provide the information listed above.

For each law or area assigned to a participant in the project, the participant must provide the links to the law, regulation or case, and a 100 (or less) word description of the item.

In addition, each participant is invited to provide a more detailed summary or analysis of the law, regulation, or case. Nothing longer than 700 words. This summary will provide an overview of the law, case, or regulation. The summary may include citations of clauses, or provisions, but these should be located within the text of the summary. Do not use footnotes.

While there will be some flexibility with the length of these comments, longer summaries will be rejected. The intent of this project is not to provide a comprehensive analysis of all existing laws, but rather a compilation of links, with short, easy to scan descriptions of the materials for which the link is provided.

Links to law review or similar articles that comment on the specific law, regulation, or case that is being covered are welcome. However, links to commercial websites (e.g. your own law firm’s website) are not permitted.

Schedule

This project will be completed over a 12-24 month period, with milestones every two or three months, to ensure that progress is made, without burdening participants with large deliverables.

The first milestone was January 15, 2007. The second milestone will be April 30, 2007
